Study Committee Proposals
for Completing the 2nd floor

Your Study Committee has the responsibility to review and evaluate the existing space needs on an immediate basis, a short term basis, and a long term basis. We have prayed for God's guidance in our efforts. The proposal below for completion of the 2nd floor addresses the short term needs and is based on our goal to maximize the greatest use of the space to provide the greatest services at Heritage for God's work.

Current plans include:

• Children's Sunday School classes:
  More space for Children's Sunday School classes. Move Children's Director office to current Bridal dressing area. Security/welcoming/presence/strength of program/closer to other staff offices. Move Bridal dressing area to Choir Room temporarily. Security for Choir Room offered. Install hooks/mirror/dressing items permanently for Choir/Drama use. Install blinds on north/south hall windows. Move 1/more, as needed, Adult Sunday School classes, temporarily. Possible locations discussed/Fellowship Hall. Possibly combining some Adult Sunday School classes temporarily. Number of groups needing Sunday School space discussed. Assigning 2nd Fl Rms.
  
  
• Education Wing:
  Remodel/decorate Education Wing into Children's Wing, as building campaign progresses. Theme was prepared for rooms; hall-paint is donated.
  
  
• Kitchen:
  Install open island for storage in kitchen. Commercial fridge/freezer/kitchen equipment.
  
  
• Security:
  Directional signs/security/keypads. Security coordinator.
  
  
• Prayer Room:
  Complete space between 2 buildings as Prayer Room/storm shelter for GPS registration. Install gate/locked doors to Education Wing. Current Prayer Room available for office/counseling (for example, for Youth) etc.
  
  
• Workroom:
  Enlarge 1st Floor Workroom for storage/file cabinet by finishing out corner. Possibly using sliver of that space for diaper changing area for Women's Restroom.
  
  
• Balcony:
  Complete Balcony floor on west side, squaring railing for sitting area/library area etc.
  
• Sand volleyball pit:
  Sand volleyball pit for youth. Must determine easement, etc.
  
  
• Parking:
  Gravel parking area on west side; allow space for visitor parking on east side.
  
  
• Playground.:
  Install door on north side to allow youngest to playground area at back of building/safety. Three sections/low fencing to separate areas. Safety/approved ground material. Privacy/6' fence. Equipment per age group.
  
  
• Second Floor:
  Elevator to accommodate gurney at north end of north-south hall. Move glass double doors just east at bottom of stairway. Heavy, soundproof partitions to allow maximum usage of classrooms. Coffee nook. Enlarged storage area. Wedding area Rooms 9, 10, 11. Relocate current wedding provisions to Room 9. Mechanical area to Rm 7, above mechanical area in Choir Room on 1st Floor. Overflow of Youth to Room 8, as needed.
  
  

The Study Committee prays for God's blessing of these proposals for growth of His Church. Let us work together to grow God's plan.
