We will build on a "Pay as we go" basis with 20% of all funds collected to go towards the principle on the current building loan. The plan has 3 major items

  1. Elevator
  2. Completion of the 2nd floor
  3. Playground

Progress Report

On Sunday April 20 during the Sunday School hour we had a presentation of our current Building Campaign status.

  • phase 1/Alternate 1: Elevator Tower & Entry must be completed before use of the second floor per city code.
  • Vista bid of $229,400 was received on April 8 and we have 30 days to commit.
  • We currently have $144,6872.72 and thus need $84,712.28 more. With 20% going directly to paying off the principle on the current load (as voted on by the Church Conference on Feb. 2007), we actually need $105,890.35.
  • SUMMARY: We need an additional $105,890.35 by the bid deadline of May 8, 2008.

    Expenses from Building Fund

    To date, withdrawals are ONLY for weekly loan pre payments and architect fees. Loan pre payments are in addition to regular monthly loan payments taken from the Trustees Budget of the General Budget.

    Progression on how we got here

    1. November 5, 2006 - Study Committee Proposals

    2. February 18, 2007 - Church Conference
      The "Time to Build a Church for Everyone" proposal passed.

    3. April 12, 2007 - District Approval
      The proposal was approved by the District Board of Church Location and Building

    4. May 20, 2007 - Building Program Kickoff
      Pledge campaign for pay as we go/build as we go effort/20% of donations paid as prepayment to retire existing loan principal

    5. Design/Build approach did not receive ample response -
      focus changed to architect bid approach

    6. September 16, 2007 - Architect selected
      R.W. Bright, Inc., was selected as architect for the development of documents for the proposed elevator and completion of the 2nd floor.

    7. October 14, 2007 - Moved location of elevator
      Ad Council approved to move the elevator location to the west entrance.

    8. December 14, 2007 - Additional improvements required


    9. December 18, 2007 - Ad Council approval of architectural plans
